From the Principal

Dear Parents and Students!

The month of March has certainly offered us sunshine and a little taste of the spring warmth to come. Now after the half term holiday and the break from school, the bright fine weather has added momentum and energy after the autumn and winter darkness.

P.E. classes will now be outdoors, Mr. Scott is using the nearby forest and playing fields in order to best take advantage of the nice weather.

We have new neighbors in school, a gym company are renting an area of the wing on level 6. They will be in place in the house early mornings and late evenings which is excellent because it allows somebody to be alert within the school building at times we are not here.

Two weeks ago we had our first Introduction Day at school for students who are next in line to be offered a place next school year. It is always a pleasant experience to meet with students and parents who see the school, and the International English School organization, with fresh eyes.

I will spend the coming weekend in London where, along with an IES recruitment team, I will be interviewing teachers who have applied to work at IES during the next academic year. The process of getting everything and everyone into place is in full swing!

The last week of March brings us into April with two days of Development Talks before the Easter break. This marks that we have reached the final stretch of the Spring semester and academic year before the Summer holidays arrive with a bang! Take the opportunity to enjoy this, our first academic year, and remember that each academic year comes only once in life; so try to always make the best of it!

A special thought I send to our 6th grade students who have a busy time right now with a succession of National Tests. Good luck and do your best, I'm sure it will go very well.
